Spanish public authorities rely on ENAC accreditation to regulate the National Inspection System of Biofuel and Bioliquid Sustainability

The Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda of Spain has recently published the Royal Decree 235/2018 amending Royal Decree 1597/2011 by regulating the National Inspection System of Biofuel and Bioliquid Sustainability.

Among the changes of the Royal Decree 1597/2011, article 11 establishes that the biofuel or bioliquid sustainability inspection report demanded by economic operators can be issued by a sustainability inspection body accredited by ENAC as a product certification in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17065 standard.
