Accreditation supports maintenance, review and inspection of mobile personnel lifting platforms

UNE 58921:2017 establishes requirements both for the maintenance, review and inspection of mobile personnel lifting platforms to ensure the safe operation of this equipment. The standard is used by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive, the Law on Prevention of Occupational Risks and the Regulation of Prevention Services, as well as the minimum safety and health provisions for the use by workers of the work equipment typified in the Real Decree 1215/1997.

Among the contents of the new regulation, it states that periodic and exceptional inspections are carried out by accredited inspection entities in accordance with ISO / IEC 17020, as a means to evaluate the competence of these entities involved in the control of the maintenance, technical conditions and safety.
